REME Halo Everything You Need to Know

Air duct that REME Halo works with.

When RGF® Environmental Group unveiled the REME HALO, the product became an instant hit and has been one of the best-selling air purifiers ever since. In this article, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know about this revolutionary in-duct air purifier: from how it works to its benefits and more.

We’ll also answer a question that everyone keeps asking: Does REME HALO offer protection against the novel coronavirus (Covid-19)? Keep reading.

… Let’s Set the Mood with a Simple Definition of REME HALO

What is a REME HALO? Not a Spanish Movie title, it’s a next-generation indoor purifier that utilizes Reflective Electro Magnetic Energy (REME) technology to eliminate air pollutants, allergens, and toxins. This first-of-its-kind air purifier is designed to mimic nature’s natural way of getting rid of air impurities. This enables it to bring the feeling of fresh air into your home or office without exceeding the natural air quality levels.

Also, the RGF REME® purifier does not emit Ozone or mercury vapor. These elements can cause severe coughing, chest pain/discomfort, and further aggravate respiratory conditions such as asthma. The elements can also compromise the immune system’s ability to fight RTIs (Respiratory Tract Infections).

How Does the REME HALO Work?

As we’ve just mentioned, the REME is an in-duct air purifying device and this means it’s usually installed in the HVAC duct system. When the HVAC unit is turned on, the REME purifier produces a UV light that reacts with a quad metallic catalyst in the system, producing airborne oxidizers like Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) and Super Oxide ions. These oxidizers are safe, meaning they don’t cause any health issues and are environmentally-friendly.

The oxidizers are then distributed to every inch of your home or office, via the air conditioning ductwork. Every time the oxidizers (particularly ionized hydrogen peroxide) come into contact with contaminants such as bacteria, viruses, allergens, and toxins, they quickly break their molecules and destroys them.

Reme Halo Vs COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2)

REME Halo filters against SARS-CoV-2

Given the major role that microscopic respiratory droplets and aerosols play in the transmission of SARS-CoV-2, aka COVID, a lot of people have been asking — can the REME purifier prevent SARS-CoV-2 by capturing and destroying/inactivating virus particles that could be lingering in the air? The answer is yes! And there’s sufficient data to back this claim.

Data: In March 2020, third-party researchers conducted a study to examine how effective REME HALO is at preventing the spread of Coronavirus. The research was conducted at Innovative Bioanalysis — an independent, AABB-certified laboratory located in Cypress, CA. The research was overseen by Dr. Marsden, an experienced scientist who also serves as an Executive Director of Science and Technology at RGF. The researchers were keen to ensure that the conditions under which the REME HALO was tested matched the conditions you would find in a real-world air-conditioned residential, commercial, or industrial building.

The findings showed that indeed the REME purifier can remove the SARS-CoV-2 virus from indoor spaces, reducing the risk of person-to-person SARS-CoV-2 infection by respiratory droplets, aerosols. They also tested the REME purifier efficacy and found it has an efficacy of 99.9% against Coronavirus. The researchers also tested REME HALO’s effectiveness at neutralizing coronavirus on surfaces. The test results showed a 99+% efficiency rate.

Note: The REME purifier does not claim to be a medical device and is not meant to mitigate or cure the SARS-CoV-2 disease. You should think of it as an added layer of protection against covid. Even after you install it in your home or office, you should continue to stay vigilant and follow the CDC’s guidelines , such as wearing a mask, practicing social distancing, and frequent handwashing.

REME Halo Purifier Vs Other Airborne Viruses

If you thought Coronavirus was the only airborne virus you should be worried about, think again. There are an estimated 10 nonillion Viruses out there and a good number of them are harmful and capable of becoming airborne. Luckily, the REME HALO can protect you against these viruses.

The Photohydroionisation Cell® (PHI), and REME technology found in REME HALO units helps neutralize airborne viruses by destroying/altering their genetic material and DNA. Below is a list of viruses that REME can help eliminate.  Note: This list is not exhaustive and only includes some of the most common and rapidly spreading airborne viruses. Source: The RGF Test Booklet.

  1. Influenza Viruses: There are four types of influenza virusesbut only two of them are known to cause illness in people: Influenza A and B viruses. These two are responsible for the flu pandemic that the US experiences almost every winter.

Influenza infection can lead to severe coughing, fatigue, sore throat, and body aches. It can also trigger other serious complications such as asthma, heart problems, endocrine issues, and neurological disorders such as stroke. Researchers from Midwest Research Institute tested the REME® purifier on Influenza viruses and found that the purifier inactivates the levels of Influenza viruses by 99+%.

  1. The H1N1 Virus: The H1N1 virus, also commonly referred to as the Swine Flu virus or the H1N1 pdm09 virus, caused the 2009 swine flu pandemic that lasted for about 19 months. Between the spring of 2009 and 2010, it’s estimated that 12,469 Americans dieddue to complications associated with the Swine Flu virus.

Fast-forward to today, the Swine flu virus is still around and capable of causing severe respiratory issues. Researchers at Kansas State University tested RGF’s PHI and REME cell technologies on the H1N1 pdm09 virus and the results revealed they were 99 percent effective in eliminating the virus.

  1. Norovirus: Sometimes known as the stomach flu or the winter vomiting bug, Norovirus is an easily transmissible virus that can cause diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting. It’s also one of the top common causes of gastro, also referred to as gastroenteritis. The REME was tested on Norovirus and the results showed the purifier can reduce the number of Norovirus particles by 99+ percent.

The PHI and REME Tech in REME Units Can Also Protect You from Harmful Bacteria, How Convenient!

Here are some bacteria that this purifier can help eliminate with a 99+% efficiency rate.

  1. Streptococcus Pneumoniae:S. pneumonia is a highly infectious pathogen and is usually the main cause of pneumonia and inflammation of the meninges in young children and adults aged 60 years and above. This pathogen can also lead to pneumococcal infections, such as peritonitis sepsis, septic arthritis, brain abscess, and endocarditis. Streptococcus Pneumoniae mainly spreads between people during coughing/sneezing.
  1. E. Coli (Escherichia coli): An E. coli infection can cause diarrhea, respiratory issues, Constant fatigue, and pneumonia. It can also damage the lining of your intestines and may trigger other serious illnesses. While this bacterium is mainly spread through the consumption of contaminated foods, it can also spread via respiratory droplets and aerosols.

Other viruses that the REME can combat with a 99+% efficiency rate include Staph (Staphylococcus Aureus), Clostridium difficile, and Strep/Streptococcal sp.

Can the REME HALO Help Eliminate Airborne Dust Particles?

Dust specks or bunnies can be difficult to clean and can lead to allergic reactions, asthma attacks, and skin irritation. This brings us to the next question: Can the Reme Halo purifier help keep your home or office dust-free? Again, the answer is yes! The Reme comes equipped with an advanced bi-polar ionization (BPI) technology that enables it to eliminate nearly all the airborne dust inside your home or office.

The way the BPI ionization technology gets rid of dust is pretty simple: It works by introducing millions of +ve and -ve ions into every cubic inch of air-conditioned space. The ionization charges dust particles in the air, making them stick together. The more the dust particles stick together, the larger they become. This, in turn, makes it easy for them to get caught by your HVAC’s filters.

What Are the Differences Between Other Air Purifiers and the REME HALO?

Surprisingly, we get this question a lot. So, what exactly is the difference? Here are the main differences.

  1. The REME Cleans the Air More Efficiently

Although other purifiers do a good job getting rid of air pollutants, the REME HALO has elevated the air purification concept to a whole other level. It comes with more advanced air purification technologies and this enables it to be more efficient and effective than other air purifiers. This explains why it has higher a clean-air delivery rating than most purifiers on the market today.

  1. You Don’t Need to Keep Moving the REME: It’s Designed to Provide Whole Building or Home Purification

Most air purifiers only purify the air in the room in which they are placed and need to constantly be moved from one room to another to work effectively. But the RGF® purifier is different. It produces airborne oxidizers, which travel to every inch of air-conditioned space in a residential, commercial, or industrial building.

More and More Benefits

Need more convincing? Well, strap in! Here are more reasons why you should add a REME HALO unit to your HVAC system.

  • Compatibility: The REME HALO is designed to work with any HVAC system you can find on the market today. So, if you were worried about the compatibility, we hope this info puts your mind at ease.
  • No EMF Emission: Before RGF released the REME purifier, they sent the purifier to third-party labs, such as NEI china and Electrical Power Research Institution, for Electrical magnetic Frequency testing. All the findings showed the REME purifier does not emit EMF. Exposure to EMF can cause headaches, dysesthesia, fatigue, anxiety, and stress. EMFs can also damage your cell and nervous system.
  • Say goodbye to odors from cooking and musty rooms: The tech in REME purifier also enables them to target odors that may creep into your home or office.
